Giving Voice

Voices of Youth Mural for the Youth Emergency Shelter was created together with local emerging artists (Kelly McMichael and Anica James) under my mentorship. They collected youth voices from divers groups and representations the created through workshops. They designed and created the mural from these artifacts with volunteers. We had many amazing partners including the City of Peterborough, the United Way, The New Canadians Centre, Community Living Peterborough, Heads up for Inclusion, the Kawartha Pine Ridge School Board and the Laidlaw Foundation.

Fostering Inclusion

I  wanted to recognize and honour the gifts that everyone brings to our lives by creating a space for many divergent voices in the school. Organizing a school wide Inclusion Workshop with Judith Snow, and supporting  the Amigos Program, were two examples of this.

Changing Our World (co-organized with Ferne Cristall and Krista English) was a school board wide documentary film festival, held at TASS, with panel discussions, and workshops with acclaimed Toronto filmmaker John Greyson.
